Plans on producing instruction films on therapeutic mediation in different languages 

During my courses on dealing with bullying I use a video camera in two ways:

1. Providing a chance for modelling. 
First people have a need to get an orientation of the SCm and/or therapeutic mediation.  They read about the aims and phases and get written examples of dialogues.  Then a need of live demonstration appears.  In my courses I have done it myself but as I cannot be at many places I have begun to make video films of training which even has the advantage of identification that those who perform roles are course participants under training.  We can on films follow a development from awkward attempts to mastership.  And all this is not faked but just a recording of natural processes that really happen. 

Before the begin role play they have the opportunity of seeing role playing by others and The participants on the course hear my positive and understanding comments and get a relaxed attitude.  We stop the film anywhere educational points are best illustrated and sometimes play back the tape.  The participants and I quickly reach a consensus about the details.  Interest in the subject creates an atmosphere in which they want to take part themselves and be filmed.

2. Providing a chance for feedback from own performance 
When the participants start own role plays we make a film about their performance and play it back to the actors.  As the atmosphere of my commenting and the remarks from the others of the course is positive the actors are relaxed to get the point which have to be improved without mobilising any ego defence.

I employed camera for instruction already in the 80’s and the 90’s with different cameras.  In the year 2000 I bought a DV camera and equipment for editing that enables me to put instruction texts on the films.

The first production of text comments on recorded role-plays from my Swedish courses will start in April 2001.  I will tell about the results of my attempts to provide these with English texts.  On my English courses I will get materials to make instruction films in English.

There are also plans to video record therapeutic mediation in real cases ­ without violating the privacy of the parties.  How this will be provided will describe on this home page when we have succeeded.
